No Android 2.2 [Froyo] for Xperia X10 and Xperia X10 Mini

Posted on January 7, 2011 by Renji | Short URL: http://sumtips.com/?p=2781

Sony Ericsson UK has confirmed that the Xperia X10, Xperia X10 Mini, and the Xperia X10 Mini Pro will not receive Android 2.2 [Froyo] or any other iteration of the Android mobile platform after Android 2.1 [Eclair].

However, Sony Ericsson did say that the Xperia X10 series will get many other enhancements via software updates.

An update is already stated for X10 in the first quarter of this year which will bring multi-touch capabilities and another update later on will add new functionalities to the MediaScape and TimeScape UI.

hi, If you don’t want to provide 2.2 for x10 Or x10 mini (Pro) then its OK. But at least you can provide us with the “app2sd” an app in which we can move our apps to SD card. You may not upgrade us to 2.2 but you can that app for 2.1.
    thank you

I second allkesh – Whats with no support for running apps from SD memory card?
128MBs phone mem doesn’t hold many apps and reduces the consumer lifetime of a product…. possibly to an alternative brand phone….. #justsaying

Hi Allkesh, it depends on where you download from. Make sure where you get the rom from is a trusted source.
