Apple Releases iOS 4.2 update for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Apple’s has released iOS 4.2 Software update for the iPad, iPhone ( 3G, 3GS and 4) and iPod Touch ( 2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen).

The most notable features in the update include Multitasking, Unified Inbox, AirPrint and Airplay.

With the support for multitasking, iPad users can now switch between their favorite apps. Users will also be able to organize their apps with drag-and-drop simplicity using Folders, and Mail now features a Unified Inbox, fast inbox switching and a threaded message view.

AirPrint offers the ability to print files wirelessly to a small number of printers that support this feature. Once the device has been paired with a printer, users can simply press an on-screen print button and print photos, PDF’s or e-mails, wirelessly without having to install any drivers.

For users who own the Apple TV, the new AirPlay feature will enable them to wirelessly stream content on the iPad to a television set. The feature, can send high-quality photos, video or music to the Apple TV using a Wi-Fi connection.

Find My iphone, iPad or iPod touch is now free. The feature allows you to find your lost device on a map, display a message on its screen, remotely set a passcode lock, and initiate a remote wipe to delete your data.

To upgrade iPad to iOS 4.2, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and connect your device to the computer.
