The long awaited RTM version of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 1 has been released to the general public by Microsoft.

Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1

The SP doesn’t include any major new features but it is a relatively important update that includes previously released security, performance, and stability updates for Windows 7. It also includes new improvements to features and services in Windows 7, such as improved reliability when connecting to HDMI audio devices, printing using the XPS Viewer, and restoring previous folders in Windows Explorer after restarting.

Two new features for Windows Server 2008 R2 users: Dynamic Memory for Hyper-V, and RemoteFX. Dynamic Memory allows more flexible memory allocation within Hyper-V, and RemoteFX enables server-side GPU acceleration for Hyper-V and Remote Desktop users.

If you have a fully patched Windows then it is recommended to update using Windows Update feature, or if you prefer the standalone installer, you can download it from here or the direct download link at the end of the post.

For the online installation you need up to 1GB of free disk space and for standalone installer up to 8GB.
