Get Google Reader Experience on Desktop with WebReader

Print View Mobile View

If you use Google Reader to stay update with your favorite website and are looking for a perfect desktop alternate to it, check out the free Adobe Air based app WebReader.

WebReader

WebReader has a visually appealing interface, and gives you almost all features and functionalities provided by Google Reader and more.

Key Features:

  • Desktop Notifications for New Items
  • View articles in detail, summaries, or titles view
  • Adjust font size
  • Organize feeds and folders
  • Ability to share via social networks
  • Search

Even with all those features, one thing I missed a lot in this desktop client was the lack of keyboard shortcuts support. Hope they add this feature in the next update.

On first run, you will need to provide your Google account details to fetch Reader subscriptions. After that, you can ask it to auto-login and remember your login details.

WebReader is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux.
