VLC Media Player is now available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. It will allow Apple’s mobile device users to play a number of different video formats like AVI (Xvid and DivX), M4V, MKV and even VOB.
This version of VLC provides users with support for more file types as well as allowing them to delete files directly from the app, rather than using iTunes.
VLC media player brings the following few new features:
- It now runs on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the recent iPod touches
- You can now delete files from the application, without having to go through iTunes
- Many more media extensions are being recognized.
- Much faster decoding thanks to assembly optimizations.
