Foursquare has rolled out a new “New Year’s 2011” badge, wishing and thanking users for all their activities on Foursquare in 2010.
The badge unlock text reads:
Happy New Year! Thanks for all your check-ins, tips, photos, comments and badge unlocks in 2010. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2011 – and a hangover free tomorrow.
To unlock this badge, you just need to check-in at a venue accompanied by a “Happy New Year’s 2011″ message. It is to be noted that it can only be unlocked at the turn of the year 2011 i.e. on 01/01/2011 at the venue location.
Another interesting thing about this badge is that, it can also be unlocked if you check-in off the grid.
Happy New Year everyone. 
Update: The badge can be unlocked between 8pm and 4am local time and the shout message is not necessary.

I just unlocked this badge, when I checked into a diners, and shouted that I’m having my last dinner of the year at this place! Incidently I also became the mayor of this particular diners. And the local time is just 10PM, Dec 31,2010.
