New Gmail Labs Feature: Auto-advance

Posted on October 27, 2010 by Renji | Short URL: http://sumtips.com/?p=1581

Gmail has added a new Labs feature: Auto-advance.

The new “Auto-advance” feature, moves you automatically to the previous or next conversation after Archiving, Deleting or Muting a mail.

Until now, whenever you did any of those actions Gmail used to take you back to your inbox and you had to scroll back to wherever you were to continue to the next mail. Thus, you can save little time using this new feature.

To enable Auto-advance labs feature:

  • Go to Gmail “Settings” and click on “Labs” tab.
  • Find and enable “Auto-advance” feature and “Save changes.”
  • Now go to “General” tab and set your preference in “Auto-Advance” feature.

That’s it!
