Test Drive feature in Ubuntu 11.04

Software Center in Ubuntu 11.04 has got a really cool feature that lets you test an application without having to install it first.

To get this feature working, you first need to install QTNX, the NX remote desktop client.

Command to install QTNX:

sudo apt-get install qtnx

Once it’s installed, you will get a new “Test drive” button below the application preview image in Software Center.

The applications you choose to test are run on a remote server so a fast Internet connection is recommended.

This feature is not available in Ubuntu 10.10 or earlier versions.
