Print Page

Dial up users faces a particular kind of problem where their internet connection automatically gets dropped after a specific amount of idle time. Connection Keeper can be a real time saver and frustration preventer for users in this case. Connection Keeper simulates Internet browsing at random intervals and prevents connection from appearing idle, thus preventing the ISP from dropping the connection due to inactivity.

On top of keeping connections alive, Connection Keeper has some more features:

  • It can automatically close popup windows, such as those asking if you wish to stay connected.
  • It can automatically dial back in, if the connection is lost.
  • It can be used to monitor web sites and DNS records. Errors can be reported by a popup window or by email.
  • Command line parameters can be used to download a web page, close pop windows and to check for the existence of a file.

Connection Keeper is a free software for the Windows OS. It is fully compatible with all versions of Windows.
