If you have two files that are similar but perhaps not identical, going through them to search for differences is a tiring and time consuming task. If the text files are longer than a couple of paragraphs, comparing them can even be near impossible.
Thanks to these comparison websites – diffChecker, CompareMyFiles and CompareMyDocs, this task can be done easily now from anywhere you have an internet access, without the need to install any software on the host computer.

CompareMyFiles
CompareMyFiles can compare one file to another. Upload two files and click on “Compare Files” button. You also have the option to view the entire content of the files side by side or only the differences. After comparing, it will show you a visual representation of the file and highlight the differences.
CompareMyDocs
CompareMyDocs is an online document comparison service. It allows users to compare, recombine, and merge upto 6 documents. Click on each slot provided on the homepage to upload documents, and click on Compare. It supports .doc, .docx and .rtf formats.
You can also edit the result as it also works like an online text editor. Options such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, Redo, and change font size are also available. Once all changes has been made, the document can then be saved back to desktop in .doc, .docx, or html format.
