Google’s Page Speed add-on has long been available for Firefox, helping web developers analyze and improve their website loading times. Today, Google has finally released an experimental Page Speed extension for Google Chrome as well.
Page Speed for Chrome works similar to the Firefox add-on and retains all available features. In addition, optimization suggestions have been improved and this versions supports over 40 languages. These improvements are part of the Page Speed SDK, so they will also appear in the next release of the Firefox add-on as well.
As it’s an experimental extension at the moment, you will have to enable the Experimental Extension APIs in “about:flags” to install it.
Page Speed runs in Chrome’s Developer’s Tools, which can be accessed from Tools > Developer’s Tools, under the wrench icon.

Yahoo’s YSlow Extension was also released for Google Chrome earlier this month.
