Close a Tab by Double Clicking in Google Chrome

Double Click Closes Tab is a Google Chrome extension which allows users to close any tab by double-clicking.

After installing the extension, you can double click anywhere on a page to close the tab and if you find double click is not ideal, then you can switch to Triple Clicks from the Options page.

It also adds a new button to the omni bar that, when clicked, closes the current tab, but you can change it’s action to duplicate the current tab or it can be hidden altogether.

Other optional functionalities:

  • Re-open a closed tab with a key combination like Shift, Ctrl or Alt + Double Click (or Triple Clicks)
  • Prevent accidental exiting of Chrome when the last tab is closed
  • Ctrl + click on a link would open the link in the same tab
