Change the Icon for a File Type

Everyone might want to set a custom icon for a particular file type sometime. The benefit of setting a custom icon is that it helps you easily identify each file type and you have to agree it’s much prettier than the default icons available with windows.
Now Windows does let you change icon for any file type but it’s not an easy task. An application called Default Programs Editor will make the process much simpler for you.

Default Programs Editor is a free stand-alone program. Download the application from the link provided below. It’s in zip file, unzip it and start the program by double clicking “Default Programs Editor.exe”.

Note: It requires Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5
